LACTATION
In starting out my journey as a postpartum doula, I quickly realized that breastfeeding was almost always what mothers needed help with the most. I felt the need and desire to further my training beyond the basic breastfeeding class that was required for my initial doula certification and went on to become a CLC.
Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC)
In 2013, after completing all required classroom training and passing my final written and video assessment exams, I became a Certified Lactation Counselor.
Over the past decade, I have helped countless moms and babies along their breastfeeding journey, including working on latching, positioning, low weight gain, over-supply, oral ties, using or weaning off a breast shield, pumping, introducing a bottle, preventing and treating clog ducts, safe milk handling, etc. I have done consulting for families with multiples, medically fragile babies, babies who have Down Syndrome, preemies, etc. I love being able to use my training to provide extra support to my birth and postpartum clients, and to provide lactation consultations for families all over the city.
